Welcome to the week of inspiration! All week I will be selecting one of my favorite women of fashion to inspire the days outfit of choice.
After an eventful Halloweekend, my hair was anything but happy with me after being gelled, teased, sprayed, dried and straightened. I woke up with the most spectacular rats nest on my head and while most would be upset and shave their hair off, I decided I would go with it by creating a "white-girl fro mohawk".
From this I became inspired to fashion myself after Elly Jackson of La Roux. She is a woman with personal style without being too incredibly extreme, like wearing a meat dress. Her edge also makes me channel my inner This Is England cast dream life.
The dress was worn as a strapless dress with the strings wrapped around the top, grey long socks from Target, brown leather jacket I found in Montana two years ago, chain necklace from Nordstrom, home made feather earring, bee earring from Forever21, black heals donated by my Aunt Alice, and the mohawk. The makeup is also brought to you by left over Edie costume. I am pretty sure I gave eight elderlies heart attacks walking around downtown Bellingham on the Lord's day like this...
Speaking of Edie, here is the picture you have all been waiting for!
Meet Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgwick.
We worked really hard to recreate this picture and I think that we were successful.
Have a beautiful week everyone! Oh and never participate in making an "ass-print" unless you want to be laughed at for life. Thank you, as always, Regretsy.
