Day 111: Choir Geek.

"Yo, Rugman! Haven't seen you in a few millennia. Give me some tassel."
-Genie in Aladdin (1992)

The first day of winter quarter has come and went and I can say it was full of many firsts. The list includes:
1. Morning activities varied...
2. "Body, what do YOU want" exercise in my movement class.
3. Hating a speech pathologist's voice.
4. Having time to eat food on campus!
5. Not having choir in my schedule.
All of these are significant however, I would like to take this time and elaborate on #5 and make fun of myself.

I have been a member of school choir for the last nine years of my life. Unfortunately, because of new opportunities (The Fantasticks), I had to withdraw my presence from Concert Choir. This has left a hole in my schedule, literally and figuratively. I know that I am a choir nerd, always have been and apparently always will... I couldn't help myself so, I went to the choir room just to take a peek and listen in on what I was missing. I didn't make it past warm ups because, like a loser, I sat outside the doors and, you guessed it, cried. I really wish I could blame this emotion on mother nature but sadly, I cannot. I just missed singing those good ole "do re mi"s with other choir freaks and geeks... Needless to say, I will not be walking by that door again in the twelve o;clock hour any time soon.

Not the best first day of school but really this day never meets expectations. I did stay comfortable switching between movement class and listening to the women I will grow to hate I am sure in this outfit including the dress being worn as a tank-top under a Target light-brown cardigan paired with a pair of what I like to call "genie pants" from UrbanOutfitters that are grey, my black lace Nordstrom booties (that broke today by the way but don't worry, super glue is a magical thing), and a Nordstrom chain necklace.
