Day 136: Peanut Butter Overdose.

"You must really love peanut butter.." -Shell station worker states to Alec at 11:12 PM as he stands waiting to purchase a package of NutterButters, a Peanut Butter and Chocolate cookie, Ice Cream cookie, and other "nutty" items.

"Clearly." -Alec B. Chunn

Alas, this is my last evening with Jayden and playing with these assorted blocks... I feel like I have been watching this kid since his birth even though it has only been 5 short months. Luckily, it was the best five months of his life! I love the 18month-23 month age range. It was so much fun to grow, learn, and explore with him and I will miss his adorable face greatly.
Who wouldn't love this adorable face?
The new can of worms I opened just in time for my friend Kelsey to take over for me is watching Winnie the Pooh. Frying his brain one jar of hunny at a time.
The Fantasticks is going to be an amazing experience. At least I can say I am leaving this little guy for something incredibly life changing for me. I really hope I can at least come back for a visit sometime and push him around on his trike some more...
The farewell outfit was made up of the dress being worn as a tank-top under a plaid mens shirt I purchased at the GoodWill and paired with Forever21 skinny jeans...
AmericanEagle purple scarf...
Christmas socks...
and Norstroms leather boots.

Ah! What a great surprise. I get 3 and a half more hours with him tomorrow!! And then I have to leave him with Kelsey... What a tragic parting that will be. I can only hope he will be good to her when I leave. Tomorrow is going to be quite the day.

Day 135: A Dangerous Method.

"I WANT YOU TO PUNISH ME!"
-Sabina Spielrein in A Dangerous Method.

I think that the next film that Michael Fassbender comes out with should not be about sex. He is building quite the reputation around his member and I am not sure if his sex appeal is as strong as it was a week ago before I had seen Shame and A Dangerous Method. Now when I see his name or face, all I can think about is him being violent with me and Keira Knightly's nipples. Not excellent. Not. At. All.

I hate to be graphic in my blog and to talk about such things but I feel that it must be noted that the three reasons why I did not thoroughly enjoy Shame were the following:
1. Keira Knightly's nipples.
2. Keira Knightly's "Russia-Jew" accent.
3. The man sitting infront of me during the film.

On the other hand, I had an overall wonderful Friday. I had two tests that went over fine, I woke up and fell asleep in the perfect position, I hung out with Jayden for the second to last time, and I had cookies. Yum.

The outfit for the day was less like the man repeller and more back to regular Hannah layering with the dress being worn as a tank top tucked into a vintage pale-green skirt, which was belted by an item from Target that is braided leather, a ModCloth floral coverup was added for warmth under the Gap jean jacket as well as Target grey leggings and Target grey long socks inside the Frye boots. My new favorite scarf by Kallen was also included for the warmth and Hannah essential factors.

Day 134: Tartuffe.

Earth laughs in flowers.

In continuing with my true man repeller form, I went with an explosion of floral patterns for todays outfit also incorporating layering, as the new usual. The steps for getting dressed went as follows:

1. Undergarments.
2. Black patterned socks.
3. Black dress.
4. ModCloth patterned dress put on on-top.
5. Blue pattern men's shirt donated by Lauren.
6. Black Nordstrom coverup donated by Riley.
7. Forever21 floral scarf.
8. Yellow Target belt.
9. Jcrew blazer.
10. CharlotteRouse patin leather black heals.

Yes it is Thursday, no I did not wear the heals to school, I went to Tartuffe, yes it was great, and double yes you should go see it and do the Tartuffle Shuffle.

What is the Tartuffle Shuffle?
-verb
transporting oneself to the Old Main Theatre at 7:30 by movement of turning the body sideways and moving one leg at a time to the right, starting with the right foot, to view men in tights and women in cleavage while performing the work of Molière as you continue to procrastinate studying for tests you may have the following morning and other homework, keeping
the position of one hand out and moving preferably holding onto a handkerchief or fan.

Girl One: What are you doing tonight?
Girl Two: I'm going to do the "Tartuffle Shuffle" tonight. Yeah, I just made up that phrase.
Girl One: We have to tests for CSD tomorrow?
Girl Two: Precisely. Check my facebook status.

*note that this conversation will take place in the future.

Seriously though, everyone come see Tartuffe.

Day 133: Newspaper Wall.

*Insert Racist Joke Here.

What is this? A slightly different layout... Change is a weird and difficult thing to go through but, I think it is time to mix it up a little bit.

Did the dress turn blue? Well today, it would appear to be true but, false. Laying is a gift that keeps on giving. The morning order:
1. Shower.
2. Place on undergarments.
3. Put on the little black dress.
4. Slip a Jcrew blue dress onto of black dress.
5. Put a floral patterned dress my mother made me over that and tie it up behind my back to make the illusion of a top.
6. Add a cardigan from Target to cover the shoulder flaws.
7. Put on a hand-knit scarf by Kallen that is of the goldenrod color to cover the neck flaws.
8. Add accessories that include stud earrings from Nordstroms and assorted bangles.
9. Slip legs into AmericanApparel patterned tights.
10. Frye boots o complete the look.

This is also an important time to point out my new project, the newspaper wall in my room. I am going to layer it up (Ha! more layering...) and have one of my artistic friends come a paint/pen something beautiful over it.

I also had an amazing Wednesday. Everything is going according to plan. Let's hope this keeps up this week. Tomorrow is a 14 hour day on campus and Friday brings the stress of two tests and work. Wish me luck on preparation to take this week to the next level of incredibly loud and extremely awesome!

Day 132: The Man Repeller.

What is a Man Repeller?

man·re·pell·er1[mahn-ree-peller]

–noun
outfitting oneself in a sartorially offensive way that will result in repelling members of the opposite sex. Such garments include but are not limited to harem pants, boyfriend jeans, overalls (see: human repelling), shoulder pads, full length jumpsuits, jewelry that resembles violent weaponry and clogs.
–verb (used without object),-pell·ing, -pell·ed.
to commit the act of repelling men:
Girl 1: What are you wearing to the party?
Girl 2: My sweet lime green drop crotch utility pants!
Girl 1: Oh, so we're man repelling tonight?
*DISCLAIMER: the above conversation is not a dramatization, took place in this room 5 minutes ago.
Origin:
2009-10; < repellius (ptp. of repellia to eliminate male attention), equiv. to L repel- (s. ofrepellix) unattractive, celibate, paris fashion week, M.C. Hammer + -repel -ler1

man·re·pell·ant, noun

Look out blogger world! I have a new obsession and it is called Leandra Medine, aka the writer and creator of the Man Repeller blog though blogger. She is hilarious, fabulous, and amazing. I plan on taking inspiration from her wardrobe and fashion sense as much as possible for the duration of this project. This means that I will be layering much more often, representing the "arm party" and the finger club, and most likely, look ridiculous and glamorous all at the same time. And I cannot wait!

Today was my first crack at it so, less extreme but the layering aspect is still there. Here were the morning steps:
1. Put on a pair of Target Christmas socks.
2. Put on underwear and bra.
3. Slip into Target black leggings suitable for my movement class.
4. Put on "Olympia Lowlife" t-shirt I purchased at a local Olympia store called Archibald Sisters.
5. Add the dress on top of the t-shirt worn in tunic form.
5. Unbutton a white button-up tunic from H&M and put it on over the dress.
6. Button the middle button directly under chest.
7. Layers continue with a UrbanOutfitters "Urban Renewal" grey vest, buttoned all the way up.
8. Add accessories that include: Forever21 patterned blue scarf, designer scarf from Coco in Missoula, assorted bangles, Forever21 earrings, and Nordstroms studs.
9. Finals touch: Frye boots.

Layering complete.

Day 131: Shame.

"Shame Street."
-cinematic genius

Mondays are beautiful. Not usually I suppose, but today most definitely was. The morning was gorgeous, my classes were interesting, I had coffee twice, ate Pad Thai, saw an excellent film, caught up on my blogging, studied for a quiz, and created Phoebe Glamor (this is on my facebook page, please feel free to check it out, more to come with VAL).

Shame is another win for Steve McQueen. I think he is a fantastic director. His attention to detail is impeccable and Michael Fassbender is sexy. Enough said.

Today's outfit includes with dress being worn as a tunic under a vintage red blouse, vintage blazer, cream circle-scarf, Forever21 skinny jeans, and Frye boots.

I hope every day this week is equally as wonderful as today.

Day 130: You are my spirit animal, maybe indefinitely.

"Oh, bother."
-Pooh in Winnie the Pooh

Today was my last of three days with my boyfriend, Jayden. I wish that he could understand that I will only get to see him two more times in his life, EVER but unfortunately, he's two. On the positive side, he didn't fuss at all, we played the whole time, he ate all of his dinner, AND we watched Winnie the Pooh.

The hipster nanny outfit consisted of the dress being worn as a tunic under a Goodwill men's plaid button-up, leather jacket I found at a library in Montana, goldenrod scarf made by Kallen, cream hand-knit scarf, Gap grey pants donated by Lauren, and Forever21 brown leather booties.

Another plus of my evening was sitting between two of my favorite boys, Conner and Eli, gossiping and reading erotica. What?

Day 129: The Artist.

"Farewell Norma, I never loved you."
-George Valentin

A Saturday without work is always a productive one. I can now safely say that I am 100% off book for act I of the Fantasticks and I am a week ahead in my reading. Hopefully this will pay off for my tests next week.

The highlights of the day include dinner with my old roommates with was delicious because not only was there garlic bread, pasta, and salad but, there was also pie. Cherry Pie. Yum...

Also, Alec and I went to see The Artist at the Pickford. I know that I am a very opinionated woman and I know that this movie got a lot of praise at the Golden Globes. That being said, I give it a 3.5 out of 5. SPOILER ALERT.
It is my opinion that they ruined the integrity of the main character of this film in the last 10 seconds of the movie. I highly recommend seeing it and leaving during the heavy breathing (you will know what I mean).

The dinner and a movie night outfit was made from the dress being worn as a skirt with a vintage shirt from Spain tucked in, belted with a Target braided original, and paired with white Keds.

Day 128: Meghan Turns 21!

"Childhood is like when you are drunk. Everyone remembers it except you, minus the occasional brown out."
-anonymous

Friday has hit and all classes are back on schedule for the first time all week. Just in time for the weekend. I wish I could say that today was an excellent day but unfortunately, not. We all have those days that just do not work out in our favor and while this day had a promise to be glorious, a series of events made that change drastically.

There always positives to every negative and luckily, I ended and started my day the way I wanted and with the person I wanted so, take the good with the bad and I will day, I liked you Friday.

The outfit for the day was a success for the day with the dress being worn over my Levi boyfriend jeans and belted with a yellow Target purchase, paired with a ModCloth floral coverup, cream hand-knit scarf, and Forever21 booties. A few repeated items... Oops.

The absolute positive for the day was that today was my roommate Meghan's 21st birthday! Dinner at the Copper Hog is always delicious and we had my favorite waiter, Rob. He is a wonderful human being. Meghan's birth is an advantage for all dwellings of 920 #1 North Garden. Winning day, winning day.

Day 127: Observations Begin.

"She was a woman who, between courses, could be graceful with her elbows on the table."
-Henry James (1843-1916)

As great as the snow is, I am getting a little tired of teachers canceling class. Woah! Wait... What am I saying? Sleeping in is amazing! The only awful thing is that my class that was canceled today, I only have for half the quarter and really wanted to have it today. I know, I am a nerd but, I love Sylvia Tag.

After my theatre class, which kicked my emotions into high gear by the way, I had four hours of observations to sit through. FOUR. HOURS! It was quite entertaining though, worth it.

The outfit for this endeavor as well as late night tea with Fiona included the dress being worn as a tank top under a Gap striped blue long sleeve shirt donated by Riley, green men's Jcrew cardigan, goldenrod scarf knit for me by Kallen, hand-knit purple hat by my Aunt Annie, Levi oversized boyfriend jeans, and Forever21 leather brown booties.

Day 126: The OC.

"Oh wow, I should really learn how to knock. Just in case there's a threesome going on. In the bathroom."
-Seth Cohen from The OC season one

The Bellingham snow season continues and so does my long weekend. Apparently all of the CSD professors are either
A) afraid to drive in the snow
B) would rather play in the snow then with their clients
C) want to stay inside with their cats
D) love their students
E) all of the above
because all of my classes were canceled today. I am going to go with either C or E.

Did I spend this time being productive? I am a college student. Obviously I spent the day in bed watching the OC season one, dick one and memorizing lines rather than get ahead on homework. Come on...

I was feeling a tiny bit glamorous during my time in bed so I slipped into la sac over the already "bed wear" of my Target black leggings and paired the two with dog socks, Nordstrom black lace booties, Nordstrom chain necklace, and vintage fur-collared jacket that my grandmother gave me (this item will NEVER leave my closet).

The snow date tradition continued with Sir Henry James as we frolicked through the neighborhoods until our butts turned blue and we no longer hand feeling in our hands. Thank goodness for delicious homemade squash soup and tea.

Day 125: Snow Day.

"Blondes make the best victims. They're like virgin snow that shows up the bloody footprints."
-Alfred Hitchcock

In all my years of higher education, snow has never made class be on hold. However, today was an exception. There was a delay in morning classes, the university did not open until 10, and my second class was canceled. So what did I do after my 10am movement class where I cried hysterically because I am afraid of guns? If you guessed went to the CopperHog with Eli for some day drinking and then pet a bear dog, you are right! And a stalker.

I also took a three hour nap today, I know that was essential information for all of you. But this is important because I fell asleep during a charming film, Cashback, and will now have to re-watch it. Unfortunately, the Netflix account I have been stealing from, I mean using, is not operating correctly... This means only one thing, I must invite someone new into my dwelling and suggest we watch a film on my computer. (evil laugh inserted... here.)

The snow shuffle gear included the dress being worn as a slip for added warmth under by bird dress from ModCloth, with Target black tights, Target grey long socks, Ugg boots donated by my Aunt Suzie, orange hand-knit hat, and cream hand-knit circle scarf. So. Much. Warmth.

Now it is off to bed. Here's to hoping for more snow. It makes everything more beautiful and I also want to keep up this tradition of frolicking with friends in the snow after hours. Tonights main adventure: House scanning will hunting a sled, found "the little engine that could" and went down the double hill of excitement and death. We made it out alive, freezing ass, but alive. Thank you for a beautiful evening Mr. Hightower. I adore you.

Day 124: Martin Luther King Jr.

"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."
-Martin Luther King, Jr.

What is the best was to celebrate MLK Jr. day? Fried chicken, southern accents, fried burritos, "bar hopping", and snow.

That is pretty much the sum of my day.. I stayed very warm in this outfit that came with me to the grocery store with Alec and to frolic with Eli. The dress is hidden, but there being worn as a shirt over a black long sleeve shirt from Gap, tucked into grey wash Levi jeans that have been cuffed to show off the brown leather booties from Forever21, old man sweater donated by Lauren, goldenrod scarf made for me by Kallen, and hat knit cream hat for warmth.

Successful celebration indeed.

Day 123: Joanne.

"Take me for what I am, who I was meant to be. And if you give a damn you better take me baby, or leave me."
-RENT

I think that auditioning is the most exciting and fun part to being an actor. You get this wonderful opportunity to go into a new space and present yourself to new people and try something. If you fail, oh well! It is not the end of the world and you can always find an easy way to blame the director. But if you succeed, and you get a callback, there is no greater feeling.

Callbacks is probably the next best thing because you know you are a contender and you just have to bring your A-game. So, I brought it. And I stomped that stage! I made sure to dress the part in this ensemble with the dress being worn as a tunic tucked into Fiona's high-waisted pants I will one day return to her, dark blue Gap cardigan, leather braided Target belt, and black Nordstroms lace booties.

You might be wondering, "what was the outcome of this day?" Well friends, I got it. Not only did my dream of finally playing a black woman come true, I made the day of Miss Erin S. She has been wanting to see this show for years but her parents wouldn't let her because of the mature content (if you are familiar with Rent, you know what I am talking about). But now that she is in eighth grade, and they promised that if I got in, she would be allowed to come up and see it, come May, her dream will finally come true too.

I am also glad to say that my streak of kissing a girl in every WWU show I am in is continuing and I am three-for-three. Maybe I should add that to my resume and say on audition forms, "Will only take role if there is a lesbian moment for my character." Luck of the draw, my lip-locking partner is also named Hannah.
Hannah on Hannah action for the win!

Day 122: Audition Day.

"God, I hope I get it. I hope I get it. How many people does he need? Look at all the people!
At all the people. How many people does he need? How many boys, how many girls? How many people does he...?"
-A Chorus Line.

Okay friends. The day has come: The Rent Audition. I feel like I have been waiting for this for decades and decades and decades! I wish that I was not in a state of mind funk due to the depressingness that the show left me in last night. However, it only makes me more proud because I found energy during my dance audition then I went and made sure I had all the words right for my songs, and then sang. I gave it my best and showed contrast in range and emotion. Finding a way to cry in a Michael Jackson song was something I wasn't even aware was possible but, it happened. I guess I have to thank Bill Cain again..

The break-a-leg outfit, and last "ode to Lauren" included the dress being worn as it should, in dress form with a Gap dark blue cardigan donated by Lauren, a brown leather belt also donated by Lauren, black Target tights that are getting more and more rips in them, and black heals donated by Alice.

The rose was a gift from Alec that was a gift to him. Regifter... I do love thee.

Day 121: How to Write a New Book for the Bible.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=uuo-KkrNl9c

(PS: I met him after. I may or may not have hugged him)

From unflattering color to unflattering top... I tried to hide some of the length of this top by tucking it underneath itself. Unfortunately, it only added to my growing "junk food" baby. Don't worry, it is only a stomach implant and it will go away quickly once I find my WWU ID card and start going to the gym and eating less and better...

The outfit consisted of the dress being worn as a skirt with a Kenzie oversized sweater top donated by Lauren, Target light brown cardigan, cream hand-knit hat, goldenrod scarf made for me by Kallen, Christmas socks, and Nordstroms black lace booties.

Notable events of the day:
1. Not falling asleep in any of my classes.
2. Getting Boomers burgers. It's Boomuary!
3. Driving to Seattle with Henry and dodging traffic like a boss.
4. Eating Indian food aka the best naan.
5. Seeing the most incredible play, EVER on a preview night aka being one of the first people in Seattle to see it.
6. Crying my eyes out.
7. Meeting the writer and directer.
8. Eating the best desert doughnuts ever and drinking coffee in a saucer cup.
9. Driving back to Bellingham in the snow.
10. Knowing the snow will be gone in the morning...

Day 120: Bright Yellow Makes Me Look Like a Cancer Patient.

"Be like Curious George, start with a question and look under the yellow hat to find what's there."

Tuesdays and Thursdays are going to be special days for me over the next few months due to my movement class. I have no choice but to sport sweatpants, leggings, and yoga pants constantly. I am going to do my best to do it in the most fashionable way possible...

This was a daring choice. I wanted to keep my week of Lauren alive and wear the most outrageous thing she gave me. Now, I realize that a cardigan is anything but daring. It is generic and everyone wears them daily. However, you make it bright yellow, and we are getting somewhere.

The outfit was made by the dress being worn as a tank top under the bright yellow AmericanApparel cardigan, paired with black Target yoga pants, Frye boots, and a light-blue circle scarf that I hand-knit.

First full week of school: almost complete. I hope Friday brings less drastic colors, warmth, back to no pants, and relaxing classes.

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Day 119: I Wish I Were Julia Child.

I'm not a strict vegetarian. I do eat beef and pork. But not fish 'cause that's disgusting! How do you know when fish goes bad, it still smells like fish? "Hey this smells like a dumpster, lets eat it!"
-Jim Gaffigan

No pants week continues in this ensemble that included the dress being worn in a new form as a knotted t-shirt over a pink spaghetti strap dress donated by Lauren from Romy paired with a light-brown Target cardigan, under a Gap jean jacket, a vintage brown leather belt donated by my Grandmother, Nordstrom chain necklace, vintage shoes I bought in Olympia, and black knit hat also donated by Lauren.

This outfit must be good luck because I got 100% on my first quiz, I have a new life plan for the next 13 years that I am very happy with, and I have so much free time to cook, cook, cook!

I also have spent the last hour trying to figure out how I could have a cat without making my mother angry...

Solid job Wednesday, you were excellent.

Day 118: Feels Like Rocky.

I was at the gym the other day and there was a girl in there and you could see her ribs. All I could think is, "I haven't had a McRib in forever."
-Jim Gaffigan

Please don't get sick of my Jim Gaffigan quotes. There are not going away.

Apparently I am anti-warmth this week. This is day two in a row where I have woken up and said, "Hey pants, I am going to do without and leggings, you can stay in the hamper." Luckily, Tuesdays are days where I am not on campus for to long and I can stay inside for the majority of the time moving quite frequently and quickly in 264 (my movement class).
Since the longest and most exciting class of my day is essentially a workout, I dressed appropriately in sweatpants (not pictured), an oversized wolf-shirt under an AmericanApparel long sweatshirt donated by Lauren, the dress worn (after sweatpants) like a skirt, dog socks, and black lace Nordstrom booties.

I feel like I should go run some stairs or something while Bill Conti inspirational music plays in my ear...

Monday, January 9, 2012

Day 117: Eddie's Cookie Dough.

Pancakes definitely make you lower your expectations. You’re like, “Well, looks like I’m not showering today.”
-Jim Gaffigan

Today was the first Monday of the quarter and it is the only Monday of the first three weeks of school so I made it count. I treated like all Monday's should be treated...

The sound of my alarm went off and I made my first Monday choice and procrastinated getting out of bed. This then turned into taking too long of a shower, missing my breakfast time, rushing putting lunch together and arriving to class at 9:00 on the dot.

After my first class I went to get my needed caffeine fix and caught up with
Miss Lauren W. She is a glorious woman. If you don't know her, you should and if you have the opportunity to get to know her, take it. I wish I had known her longer while she was in Bellingham because this long distance relationship sucks!

After sitting through the last three classes of the day learning about sex, babies, cats and bar-tending (clearly all things needed to be known in the speech pathology world...) I went home to eat, nap, get milk, and pretend to be productive. Maybe I will actually get to that last one soon. I have two discussions tomorrow to be prepared for and a quiz. Professors are not messing around with this quarter...

Favorite story of the day:
Mike: Hey! Hannah!
Me: MIKE!
Mike: Want my cookie dough?
Me: You don't want it?
Mike: No, I always think I can finish a whole Eddie's Cookie Dough but, it is too much.
Me: Mike, you know that says "edible cookie dough" not "Eddie's, right?
Mike: Oh my god! No way! I have always read that as Eddie's!
(laughter shared)
Me: Don't worry about it. I definitely did that the first two years at Western.
Mike: What does that say about me since I am going on year five with Eddie's... I can't believe no one has corrected me till now! Thank you.
Me: No thank you, my roommate and I will greatly enjoy this.

Free cookie dough is always a win. Thank you Mike for making my Monday.

Today's LH outfit got many compliments! I wish I could repeat it so I could get even more but sadly, I cannot. So, enjoy this while is lasts. The dress was worn as a skirt with a white, sheer button up donated by Lauren from Kenzie, worn with my Frye boots and the goldenrod scarf Kallen made me (I can see this being a recurring item for me these next few weeks... sorry in advance).

Also, last night I watch the worst Indiana Jones movie (the Temple of Doom) and Steven H. drew Cleveland on my arm. I never want him to go away. How great of a tattoo option is this?

Also, this should be watched by all...
http://perezitos.com/2012-01-09-toddlers-and-tiaras-alana-honey-boo-boo-and-mom-june-extreme-couponer/?from=PH

Day 116: Ode to Lauren Halvorsen.

When did we have to become members of all these grocery stores?
“Are you a member of our secret club?”
“Uh, I’m just getting Doritos.”
“Well that’ll be $4,000.00. Or you can join our club.”
“I can’t come to a lot of meetings, but I guess I’ll join.”
-Jim Gaffigan

Here it is! Finally... My week in honor of my dear friend Lauren Halvorsen who has donated the most clothes to this project and has therefore made most and many outfits to come possible. The rules are that I must wearing something everyday this week that she (or her family) donated.

This is day one so it is allowed to be the weakest one with only one item from her family's closet. The dress was worn as a tank-top under a Gap blue striped v-neck t-shirt which was then covered by a blue patterned men's shirt donated by Lauren, and paired with my "fat pants" from Levi's that have been rolled up at the bottom held up by a Buckle light-brown leather belt, and white Keds.

A perfect lazy Sunday mismatch for the grocery store and laying in bed doing homework. Monday, I am ready for you! Bring. It. On.

Day 115: You were wonderful last night... (said to my bed)

(This whole video is my quote for the day...)
http://splitsider.com/2011/09/jim-gaffigan-tells-his-harrowing-story-of-bed-wetting-to-fallon

It is looking to be a homework kind of weekend. It is my greatest hope that I can be absolutely on top of all of my readings and assignments this quarter and so far, I am off too a pretty good start. This also means that there is a strong possibility that I will be spending any and all free time reading, studying, and doing homework in bed. I am okay with this though. Very much okay.

Because I had guests last night, I let them sleep in my bed while I slept on my chaise lounge which was surprisingly comfortable. I did very much miss my bed last night. That is a glorious place, I tell yah!

The outfit of the day was essentially created from yesterday's ensemble because I slept in it last night... I had to make adjustments in the dark this morning while my house guests rested so I could make my morning appointment. So off came the shirt from the dress and a yellow Target belt created shape, the Target light-brown cardigan kept the shoulders covered, Frye boots to keep the feet dry, and (my new favorite addition to my scarf collection) a gift from Kallen, this goldenrod colored scarf that can be worn in multiple ways.

Day 114: $17.33 charge to McDonalds.

Cassie: Your room must get really good light.
Hannah: Yeah, during the day but at night it is a littl.... Oh god. That was a stupid thing to say.

Evening with Marie KALLENder, CASSIEblanca, and Thumper (Allen) for the win.

Happy first Friday of the quarter all! It is to be celebrated with a visit by Kallen from Seattle, knitting, and hopefully completing some things on my list of things to do this weekend. The most notable event of the day was work where the best thing happened.

Jayden, a two year old gem of a boy, discovered that I am a woman and have breasts today when trying to find the deck of cards I hid under my armpit. He then become fascinated, forgot about the cards and stared at them for a solid minute, looked up at me and said, "I love you." What are little man...

Needless to say, I will be wearing sweatshirts and t-shirts to work from now on at all times to avoid future attachment. The outfit of discovery was made by the dress being creating into a patterned one with the aid of this UrbanOutfitter tank top which is much too large places on top paired with black Target leggings, Frye boots, llama black sweater, and cream circle scarf.

Other things to mention from the day:
1. Dr. Zeine had six cat examples today in class.
2. I am making my love for McDonalds public knowledge.
3. Sleep is low on the priorities list, and that needs to change.

Day 113: The boy on the beach.

"Are you texting Jesus? Most people use prayer, but whatever way connects you to your lord works."
-A.B.C.

Today was a glorious day because I finally met Sylvia Tag. Alec has been talking about her non-stop for the past quarter and now I have the privilege of being her student. Words can not express my excitement. His impression of her was damn near perfect and I can't wait to tweak it myself. I wish I had more than four more classes with her... She is much to wonderful for such a short relationship.

I also ate Thai food today, finally! I have been waiting 3 weeks for this fabulous meal and I must say, my stomach is pleased.

Good dead of the day: Giving away a banana.
Word of the day: Jesusloose.
Outfit of the day: Dress worn as a t-shirt under a Paris sweatshirt I found at a thrift store in honor of the film we watched this evening, The 400 Blows, 80s washed jeans donated by Lauren, blue wool REI socks, and Forever21 brown leather booties.
Man of life: Jim Gaffigan.

Day 112: Burger Thief.

"We’re never satisfied when it comes to food. You know what’d be good on this burger? A ham sandwich. Instead of a bun, let’s use two donuts. That way we can have it for breakfast. Look out McGriddle. Here comes the donut-ham-hamburger! You guys laugh but you know that there is someone over at Dunkin' Donuts saying, that's not a bad idea."

-Jim Gaffigan.

Before I move forward to today, I need to bring up some things about last night.

I love my guy friends. They are so excellent and I never get sick of their ridiculous antics. You know you are around the right people when you never see them but as soon as you are together, it feels like you have never been apart. With that said, I went over to what is now Conner, Spencer, Oneil, and Kyle's house because Chase is moving to Utah (I know, Utah....) to hang out with them and the other visitors that I adore, Dylan, Steven, Tony, and Seth. The evening was spent with games and sharing of very interesting details of life. The prime event that needs to be address, the showtime television show about gigolos. I have never been so repulsed and intrigued by a show before. I don't know if I should hate them for sharing this with me or thank them for making me feel that much better about my own life... Either way, I have not had that much fun on a Tuesday night before school in quite sometime.

I also learned that I give the best scalp massages. Oh yeah... Try and get in on that, if you can.

Today was a much better school experience. I finally saw my favorite teacher from last quarter and I am so excited to have her again. It only took her 20 minutes to bring up her cats in lecture. God, she is wonderful. My other new favorite professor received this title with the phrase, "Oh girl, you got a tumor! You should get that checked out." Best life example ever. ,My new goal in life is to be in my early 50s and still say, "Oh girl..."

The outfit for the day consisted of the dress being worn as a tunic with my favorite alpaca sweater over and with a leather braided belt from Target, Forever21 skinny jeans, Target long grey socks, Fyre boots, and my new favorite home made fringe scarf. If you don't believe me that this is going to be the style of 2012, just you wait. But be safe, become a believer.

Day 111: Choir Geek.

"Yo, Rugman! Haven't seen you in a few millennia. Give me some tassel."
-Genie in Aladdin (1992)

The first day of winter quarter has come and went and I can say it was full of many firsts. The list includes:
1. Morning activities varied...
2. "Body, what do YOU want" exercise in my movement class.
3. Hating a speech pathologist's voice.
4. Having time to eat food on campus!
5. Not having choir in my schedule.
All of these are significant however, I would like to take this time and elaborate on #5 and make fun of myself.

I have been a member of school choir for the last nine years of my life. Unfortunately, because of new opportunities (The Fantasticks), I had to withdraw my presence from Concert Choir. This has left a hole in my schedule, literally and figuratively. I know that I am a choir nerd, always have been and apparently always will... I couldn't help myself so, I went to the choir room just to take a peek and listen in on what I was missing. I didn't make it past warm ups because, like a loser, I sat outside the doors and, you guessed it, cried. I really wish I could blame this emotion on mother nature but sadly, I cannot. I just missed singing those good ole "do re mi"s with other choir freaks and geeks... Needless to say, I will not be walking by that door again in the twelve o;clock hour any time soon.

Not the best first day of school but really this day never meets expectations. I did stay comfortable switching between movement class and listening to the women I will grow to hate I am sure in this outfit including the dress being worn as a tank-top under a Target light-brown cardigan paired with a pair of what I like to call "genie pants" from UrbanOutfitters that are grey, my black lace Nordstrom booties (that broke today by the way but don't worry, super glue is a magical thing), and a Nordstrom chain necklace.

Day 110: The end of an era.

"Winter must be cold for those with no warm memories... we've already missed the spring!"
Terry McKay in An Affair to Remember (1957)

Winter break is wrapping up and classes begin tomorrow. Today is meant for organizing binders and making my schedule, figuring out where all of my classes are and picking out the first day of class perfect outfit. With that done, I guess it is just a movie day with the function of having a cry fest because it is, the end of an era.

I found out today that after participating in school choir for the last nine years, I must say goodbye (at least until September). But I am taking this as a positive and will let Carry Grant cure my sorrow.

The ensemble for the day includes the dress being worn as a shirt tucked into a vintage skirt with a dark blue Gap cardigan donated by Lauren, Target leather light-brown belt, black knit hat donated by Lauren, black lace Nordstrom booties, new black socks that were a gift from Shawn and another craft, a necklace that was given to me last year that broke and I just fixed.

I look forward to going to see Like Crazy with Alec tonight. Hopefully after all this, I will be ready to face the music empty afternoon tomorrow...

Day 109: Happy New Year!

"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow."

-Einstein

New Years Eve never goes according to plan however, this one worked out pretty great. I made it to all four parties I plan on attending, I didn't have to work, I had the best first kiss of the year from my best friend, kissed everyone else at the party for safe measure (Ha!), won my first to games of the new year, and went to the park at 2:30 in the morning.

My 2012 Resolutions
1. Create somethings new out of somethings old.
2. Be frugal.
3. Read a wider variety of literature.
4. Learn German.
5. Get those bar tending skills I have always dreamed about.
And we will throw in the standard "work out regularly", "eat healthier", "loose weight" that we all say but let's be honest, I have probably already broken all of those.

The first outfit of 2012 shows off resolution number one! Crafty. I spent the entire day making things including this fringe scarf the I made out of a large mens shirt that was donated by Lauren's father. This is a look I am going to create again with more shirts. The color scheme of this scarf pulled the look together with the dress being worn as a tank top with a tie of the side, Target light-brown cardigan, grey Gap pants donated by Lauren, vintage shoes and crafty item number two, these earrings I made out of old necklaces I do not wear anymore.
