Day 173: Don Giovanni.

The first order of business...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TROY
I am so pleased that it has snowed on your birthday, I can only hope it stays until mine so the 5 year tradition can hold up. I am sorry we couldn't celebrate together today but we will find a time to go get a drink together! I adore you. You mean the world to me, darling.
P.S. I want to road trip with you again.
Next item on this posts list, the outfit. Today the dress felt like hiding under an Annapolis sweatshirt and  tucked into Gap pants donated by Lauren. Added was a leather jacket, Nordstroms lace black leather booties, and golden rod circle scarf (yes, I cheated my rule but it was too cold with the snow).
I also look like I haven't showered but I suppose that makes sense because it is the truth. Hey, I didn't have a show tonight. I got to let loose and let live.

The final discussion, Don Giovanni.
Another show that is about to open on my campus is a production through the Music department on the main stage, an opera! I know what you are thinking...

opera

A superior form of entertainment in which most of the characters' lines are sung. Not many young people like opera, because their brains are so clogged by rap and sex that they are unable to appreciate the dignity and beauty of opera.
One famous opera is Don Giovanni, by Mozart.
(thank you urbandictionary for this perfect description)

However, if this is the way you feel, see Don G. It is all about the sexuality and narcissism of one man played wonderfully by the charming, Reuben Walker. His talent does not stand alone in a cast full of extremely talented individuals. The vocal stylings of Dana, Veronica, Gabel, James, Jon, Deb and Daniel left me in utter awe. I feel very proud to be from a program that is the home to these singers. The set was minimalistic and charming, setting the stage for the character to grow into a very powerful second half. The few moments that the ensemble has to shine on the stage were entertaining with a dynamic cast that supports their leads in sheer talent and continuity. GO SEE THIS OPERA. It will be a significant loss for you to not hear these voices and watch this story unfurl.
