Day 107: The Three B's.

"The idea behind their creation (caterpillars/butterflies) is beautiful and terrifying."
-Moi.

This Friday was spent with my favorite boyfriend, Jayden, playing all afternoon and eating snacks. The highlights of our day include playing hide-and-sneek and me kicking his butt to the point where he thought I left the house, eating three cheese sticks in a minute, having him try and put a Goldfish up my nose, reading on the couch, and the three B's: Beans, Bubbles, and Baseball. I really do love this kid.

The play date outfit, I mean "nanny gear" included the dress being worn as a tank top with the H&M mens sweater I have acquired over top, grey jeggings donated by Kaylie, Frye boots, vintage blazer, cream colored hand-knit circle scarf, and hand made orange hat appropriate for cold weather.

I promise that I will stop wearing essentially the same outfit everyday once school is back in session. I am not the only guilty one though! We all do it...

Also, I got quite the exciting new installment of clothing thanks to Miss Lauren. I think she has donated enough clothes to have a week dedicated to her contributions. Hey, that is not a bad idea. Ode to Lauren? I think, yes.

Day 106: My Week with Marilyn.

"Remember boy, when it comes to women, you're never too old for humiliation."
Sir Laurence Oliver in My Week with Marilyn (2011)

The answer to yesterdays question about my illness is, e) All of the above
Alec is my prescription and he must never leave me. Having him home is the most wonderful thing. After work we went to see a "flawless" film at the Pickford that we both adored, we headed home to share a bottle of wine while I blogged and Alec worked on his drawings (a new hobby that developed over break). Also, our toilet is haunted. Maybe it is upset from the toothbrush incident...

The movie date night outfit is one that is clearly worn during a break of sorts because it is essentially the same thing I wore yesterday with the dress being worn as a tunic, Forever21 skinny jeans, long grey Target socks, Frye boots returning to normal form, llama black sweater, and green hand-knit circle scarf.

Now to a evening of reading, scheduling, and making resolutions. Oh how I have missed my husband...

Day 105: How I Met Your Mother.

"We're building an igloo in Central Park! It's going to be legendary! Snow-suit up!"
-Barney in How I Met Your Mother (Season 1)

So apparently coming home equals being sick forever. I have a few theories on the matter:
a) I am allergic to my house.
b) Alec is my only immunity to the house and I would be health if he were here
c) My throat is aware of the hell that is to come this coming quarter and is just getting all of the awful out of the way now
d) I should never kiss my mother
e) All of the above

I will let you know the answer once Alec returns and if that theory holds true.

Due to my "Return of the Illness" episode, I spent the day in bed beginning a new television series, How I Met Your Mother. Here is my opinion thus far: Not as great as 30 Rock, but there are some definite moments of greatness and I have a new fondness of the word "legendary" because of the "dairy" jokes. The only moments when I left the side of my new found friends was when I went to Fred Meyers to pick up Ricola, orange juice, and a new tooth brush after an unfortunate mishap with the toilet... I then returned home for a date with Dr. Jones, two different types of Ricola, three types of liquid, and four blankets.

The outfit for the pit stop for remedies included the dress being worn as a tunic, Forever21 skinny jeans, my Frye boots worn in a new style (tucked down), Christmas socks, AmericanEagle purple scarf, Forever21 knit multicolored hat, and vintage tan coat.

Okay Indiana, make my evening grand!

Day 104: Glue in my Ear.

"Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling."
-Unknown
When I have to wake up early and function off of very little sleep, I do my best to look like a homeless woman. Today, I think I almost succeeded with the dress being worn in true form with a black H&M men's sweater I found in my room that may never be returned to its owner, black alpaca wool sweater, brown UrbanOutfitters tights, Ugg boots, and cream colored circle scarf I knit.

I don't really care because not only was I extremely comfortable sleeping in the car on the way up to Bellingham, but this was perfect to play with Jayden in as well as curl up in my nanny mom's new blanket. I have never felt fabric so soft. I want it. I might try to steal it.

Also, I had a very vivid image pop into my head today while Jayden was napping that someone squeezed the contents of a liquid glue bottle into my right ear. Weird. I need sleep.

Day 103: Twin Day!

"Here I go down circle road strong and hopeful hearted through the dust and wind up just exactly where I started here I go down circle road..."
-Shel Silverstein (my new favorite poem, you can start reading from any word and it makes sense and will continue on forever)

This was done on purpose.

But there is still no excuse... These sweatshirts are amazing though! And we have to represent our pride for our state. This is my dear friend Emily. You know that she special because she is the second other person to have their face appear in the blog other than Alec.

Going home is always a fun, interesting time, especially when it is around the holidays. Most of the time all you want to do is sit around on your butt eating sweets, watching movies or drinking wine with the family. But every once in awhile, you meet up with old friends and it is as if you were never apart. That happened to me four times today with my loves, Steven, Emily, Kraig, and Kelsey (K-Simp!)

I also had the pleasure of showing Henry some of the great parts of Olympia and how a traditional evening is spent between us exciting individuals. I am not really sure how the whole experience went, but I do think he will return...

Side Note*
I also made delicious homemade potato soup today.

The outfit for the day included the dress being worn as a shirt under the "Washington Grown" sweatshirt, Forever21 jeans, and Frye boots. A very simple, lazy, "I feel like I haven't showered in days... But I have" ensemble perfect for socializing, movie viewing, baking, and coffee drinking.

Day 102: Merry Christmas!

"I love our holiday traditions especially the ones where we go out and chop down a tree and put it in our living room. It kinda sounds like the behavior of a drunk man, really. Some woman wakes up;“Honey, why is there a… pine tree in our living room?”

“I LIKE IT. We’re gonna… we’re gonna decorate it… for JESUS. And then I’m gonna hang my socks over the fireplace, fill ‘em with candy…

maybe I’ll tie some leaves to the ceiling

and see if I can get some action. And now I’m gonna puke on that couch. Merry Christmas.”

--Jim Gaffigan

Well my blog just got all kinds of better with my Christmas gist of the year, my new camera! I am just as pleased as my regular viewers that we will now be able to actually see what I am wearing instead of guessing from a blurry outline and awful description. Unfortunately for you, this might mean more unnecessary photographs of things with no significance to fashion or any of your lives and also give me more room to rant and ramble but hey, I am excited to finally have my own camera again since July 2009.

I hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas. Mine was wonderful with the mixture of movies, wine, dinner, politics, ridiculous conversation, and a game that I forced all members of the family into playing. And it was fun! Really. It was..

I would also like to report that the cake was an absolute success. I am very impressed with myself and I now know that not only can I cook pies, I can do cakes. Jim Gaffigan will be proud. Maybe one day I will make him one.

Holiday Favorites:

1. The jean skirt contraption my mother made for me. I love her very much.

2. The fact that my aunt and I both did not finish each other's gifts.

3. My new pie tin and book.

4. The new Shel Silverstein poems book.

5. New Christmas socks.

6. And the image that will haunt my brain and keep me from ever having a lot of money of my Uncle Stan in a sequined American flag speedo and a Jimmy Buffet XS tank-top with a bronzed beer belly guarding and cleaning my pool saying, "Mi perro tiene problemas en la piscina."

The holiday garment included the dress being worn in true form with the strings being used as a belt, grey Target tights, Frye boots, my llama sweater, and a Christmas hat!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!

Day 101: On the twelfth day of Christmas...

On the twelfth day of Christmas Emily gave to me, twelve sugar cookies!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE EVERYONE!
The year is coming close to an end and celebration is in the air. Today, Emily and I made sugar cookies and decorated them. Might I add that they are the most gorgeous cookies ever made.... Ha! I also had my first crack at making the Christmas cake, the Black Forrest. I am hoping the talking it down enough will lower the expectations for when it is not as good as when my mother makes it just in case.

After baking all day, I stopped by my favorite family friends house to deliver some cookies and catch up really quick before letting them return to their own family gathering and head back to my own. I just want to take this moment to say how much I adore the Snodgrass family and I am so blessed and lucky to have them in my life.

The baking outfit included the dress being worn as a tunic with Forever21 skinny jeans, Ugg boots, black llama wool sweater I won, and cream hand-knit hat. I do have to confess that the dress was not worn for the whole day because of baking incidents...

I hope Santa visits all tonight and that Christmas brings all the joys and happiness that is deserved!

ALSO
*Let us sing and recap.

On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me
12 sugar cookies
11 Jack fries
10 orange popsicles
9 Fairhaven pizzas
8 Andes chocolates
7 bowls of pasta
6 cups of coffee
5 baked bread goods!
4 Kanye albums
3 bottles of Tisdale
2 leather pant legs
and a role in a musical as a lead.

Merry Christmas Hannah Leigh.

Day 100: On the eleventh day of Christmas...

On the eleventh day of Christmas Loretta gave to me, eleven Jack fries.

100 DAYS!!!

Just saying...

Going home a day early was incredibly exciting and came at the best time because 13 workers showed up to my house this morning at 7:47 to begin working on replacing the roof. Tomorrow comes the task of working on our bathroom ceiling. I am very impressed with the new owners! They were not messing around when they said that they were going to fix it up and make it meet health regulations. I am feel happy and safe. Very good I'd say.

I also got to see one of my closest and dearest friends, Miss Emily, this evening and spent the night painting our nails and watching CSI. New skill I found for Justin Bieber: Acting. He was in an episode we watched and it. was. awesome. I have never been impressed with him before and I oddly have respect for him. Wait, no... That sounded too weird. I don't! I don't respect him!

The road trip home and couch potato outfit was made up of the dress worn as a skirt, striped blue Hollister men's t-shirt, Frye boots, and bream circle scarf I made. Cozy and comfortable. I am beginning to believe that those are my middles names. Yes, names.

Day 99: On the tenth day of Christmas...

On the tenth day of Christmas Nurse Suzie gave to me, ten orange popsicles.

Sick days are best spent in bed without loud music or pizza. Instead, as nurse Suzie informed me off at 5:13 in the a.m., it is much more appropriate to swish around salt water, drink orange juice, and consume a ridiculous amount of popsicles. This, along with the added four movies I watched today made for a superb sick day.

The only annoyance for the day is when my nanny mom messaged me to let me know that I was no longer needed for week tomorrow. What does this mean? This means that I could have been home all week! And that my mother could have gone to the store for me and I could have never left my bed. At least I can now go home a day early and have one more day of Christmas festivities.

The Fred Meyers outing included a multitude of sweaters and sweatpants but underneath it all there was the dress being worn as a shirt with black Target leggings, Frye boots, and AmericanEagle scarf for added warmth.

I really wanted to title Day 99: 99 problems but a bitch aint one.
But due to the Christmas spirit, I did not. I will still list my 99 problems.

1. I am sick
2. My back hurts
3. I haven't had Taco Bell in 6 weeks
4. I haven't had McDonalds this week
5. My 15 blankets don't keep me warm enough
6. My house is too cold
7. The ceiling is falling in the bathroom
8. There is no light in my bedroom
9. I can't finish my meals
10. I do not own a spray foam machine
11. My bank account is depressing
12. I haven't finish all my Christmas gifts
13. I want to go shopping
14. I don't have all the knobs for my dresser
15. I never got a brother
16. It is not snowing
17. It does not feel like winter
18. I don't have a pet cat named Herald
19. I don't have a job that pay enough
20. My dog isn't on my bed
21. My tea tastes weird
22. I can't read everyone in my life's mind
23. I can't fly
24. I don't have my degree finished
25. I hate making long lists...

I can not continue at this time. But there are at the minimum, 74 more problems in my life.

I would really like to wake up NOT sick. Fingers crossed...

Day 98: On the ninth day of Christmas...

On the ninth day of Christmas Jim Lortz gave to me, nine Fairhaven pizzas.

Well maybe not nine whole pizzas but I think I ate the equivalent in slices. Also Fairhaven pizza is the most bomb-ass pizza EVER. Everyone should eat there for pizza, always. Get it? Got it? Good.

Unfortunately my plan for metal to beat down all forms of sick was quite unsuccessful and actually made me feel worse when I woke up this morning. Weird how that worked... On the plus side, I spent another day in bed rotating between sleeping and bathing while watching a creative mix of film on instant watch. This, along with the heating pad, tea, and water consumption made me feel okay enough to go to dinner with Jim and Andy. It was the best dinner I have had in Bellingham for a long time. I, and my stomach, are pleased.

The pizza dining outfit included the dress being worn as a halter-top tank top (keeping the same back from last night because it is so damn cool), black Gap pants, Frye boots, tan three-quarter length cardigan from Target, and the fish necklace I made. This outfit was perfect for hiding my food baby that I now have and will hold onto for quite some time.

Day 97: On the eighth day of Christmas...

On the eighth day of Christmas Evan gave to me, eight Andes chocolates.

I had a list of things I wanted to accomplish today:
1. Go to the gym
2. Practice music
3. Clean the house
4. Finish Christmas presents
5. Eat three healthy meals
Guess how many I did...

If you said none, you are a winner. I was incredibly lazy all day but I have the excuse of illness. It isn't that bad though so, did I go out to a metal show with Fiona? Yes, yes I did. And boy am I glad I did! Evan gave me Andes chocolates! For free! I have never been so pleased in my life. Anyone who carries chocolates in their pockets when they go out automatically qualify for the status of my best friend. I think he may be the winner...

Since I spent most of the day in bed, the going out ensemble included the dress being worn as a halter dress with a really excellent back if I do say so myself, AmericanApparel plum colored tights, black lace booties from Nordstrom, gold earrings from Forever21, and bow tie stud earrings from Nordstrom.

Let's hope my theory of fighting through the disease with metal music is successful.

Day 96: On the seventh day of Christmas...

On the seventh day of Christmas Jayden gave to me, seven bowls of pasta.

I am not going to drive south again for another five days, I swear. I love driving but me and the freeway need some time apart. I did miss my love, Jayden, and I am so glad we had an excellent evening together. I picked him up from daycare right before they were going to have outside play time so we went to the park and six people thought I was his mother (awesome). When we got home, he threw a twenty minute long tantrum after I took his coat off. Twenty minutes. Twenty! That kid can scream. But he did eat all of his pasta (this is a big deal because he hasn't really finished a meal in two weeks). Rainbow pasta for the win.

I also had some excellent girl time with Fiona over tea before I had an evening bath with red wine and then a superb amount of sleep.

The nanny go to outfit that I created in 10 minutes before driving to Tacoma and back to Bellingham this morning included my "I used to be fat" Levi jeans, Ugg boots, a Gap blue striped long-sleeve shirt with the dress being worn as a tank-top over it, and my hand-knit blue circle scarf (I really need to wash that this week...) Multiple sweaters were also used for warmth today, all have previously been documented.

Day 95: On the sixth day of Christmas...

On the sixth day of Christmas Henry gave to me, six cups of coffee.

I have never been to Mt. Baker for skiing or snowboarding but I can now say that I have played in the Baker snow. This morning I woke up and dropped an egg on the ground but still had two more so it worked out okay for a starter breakfast meal. Henry and I filled up his new favorite thermos and mine with the morning brew and headed to the store to buy the best sandwich makings ever! After making two man sandwiches, a vegetarian, and a healthier option when it comes to sandwiches, eating apples, drinking more coffee, and completing the crossword puzzle Lauren, Reuben, Henry and I headed up to the mountain for the first snow frolic of the season and it was glorious! Snow is a wonderful, glorious thing.

This evening we all went to a church service where beautiful carols were sung and wishes were made on the ice sculpture that you were led to by the most adorable "Snow Children". As if the day wasn't perfect enough already, Casa Que Pasa was consumed and Star Wars was watched. Excellent job Sunday. You done good.

The dress was not worn for the snow day but for the concert and meal time, the dress was worn as a skirt with a vintage red shirt over top, black Target tights underneath, my Frye boots for my shoes, the sweater I won for warmth, and the fish necklace I made to cover accessories.
It is a really good thing I got this sweater, now I can basically wear all the same outfits with a new twist without actually repeating anything. Very nice.

Day 94: On the fifth day of Christmas...

On the fifth day of Christmas my mother gave to me, five baked bread goods!

Being home, even for twelve hours is always really fun. Not only do I always leave with free food but nothing makes me feel more special than the love from my mom and dog. My home in Olympia is also significantly warmer than my dwelling in Bellingham and I very much enjoy that.

Highlights from the day include:
1. Lunch at Olive Garden
2. Picking out and setting up the Christmas tree
3. Baking banana bread
4. Going back to using the crackberry
5. Carol singing at the Walker residence
6. Playing with cats
7. Zoolights
8. Late night drive back up to Bellingham with the most interesting playlist created so far thanks to my music ADD
9. Toot it and Boot it

I have been to four cities in the past two days. I feel well traveled.
The outfit of choice for the festivities was made from the dress being worn as a shirt, Forever21 skinny jeans, Frye boots, cream hand-knit scarf, and the sweater I walked away with from my November sweepstakes winning. Yes, I will be wearing this everyday for the rest of my life.

Day 93: On the forth day of Christmas...

On the forth day of Christmas Roland gave me, four Kanye albums and help on my shopping spree!

The universe is completely on my side because everything is working out in my favor as of late. I was supposed to work today which was making leaving for the concert on time a wee bit stressful but my nanny mom called me and told me that I no longer had to come into work so... Roland and I were able to leave earlier, stop at the mall and get my sweater I won from the alpaca shop, go to the Disney store, stop in Seattle and see my aunt and cousin from Montana, and still arrive in Tacoma with three hours before the lights faded and the concert began in the Tacoma dome.

The concert attire included the dress being worn as a tunic, chain Nordstrom necklace, leather pants that belong to my dear friend Jessii, and my vintage Nike high-top sneakers.

Now, to the reason why leather pants were essential for this concert:
I am testing the universe. I am throwing this idea out there and the universe can decide to grab it or throw it out. Either way, I know everything will work out for the best. But, in a perfect world Kanye West will notice my leather pants and think, "that is a white girl I want to know!" And then he will invite me to the after party where I will ditch him to chat it up with Beyonce and she will love me for being a strong, independent woman. She will then ask me to be her nanny and I will move into the home of Jay-Z and Beyonce for the next seven years and be set for life.

Okay universe, show me what you've got!

Thursday, December 15, 2011

Day 92: On the third day of Christmas...

On the third day of Christmas Fred Meyers gave to me, three bottles of Tisdale for free.

False. They were not free. But 3 for 10 is the best deal on the planet.

Work is the only reason I am still in Bellingham and I am very glad that I actually got to work today. Even though my nanny child was acting up a little bit, I still enjoyed him greatly.

My nannying and house cleaning outfit included the dress being worn as a long skirt, a white UrbanOutfitters tee, fish necklace I just made, blue hand knit circle scarf (yes, I wear this everyday), grey wool sweater from Nordstrom donated by Riley, and Ugg boots that once belonged to my aunt. I am also wearing Christmas socks.

Tomorrow is going to be an excellent day. I can feel it.

Day 91: On the second day of Christmas...

On the second day of Christmas Jessii Arp gave to me, leather pants to wear to a concert with Jay-Z.

Antique shopping is the absolute best especially when you stumble across the perfect gifts and are accompanied by a beautiful lady!

Also, I have successfully completed every episode of 30 Rock on Netflix instant watch and while I promise to limit my references to the show on my blog, I am not ready to stop watching... The first step is admitting you have a problem. I should get to that by New Years.

The flea market ensemble included the dress worn in true form (weird) with a black Nordstrom cover-up over donated by Riley, black Target tights with cream colored lace AmericanApparel tights over, Frye boots, and my blue hand knit circle scarf.

I also completed 93% of my Christmas gifts today! I should be done by tomorrow. Excellent.

Tuesday, December 13, 2011

Day 90: On the first day of Christmas...

It is twelve days before Christmas so it is time to rewrite the song once more! Instead of having a quote every day for the next week and five days until the big day, I will write the next lyric to my version on "The Twelve Days of Christmas". I will do my best to rhyme and keep it appropriate.
Enjoy.

On the first day of Christmas Mark Kuntz gave to me, a role in a musical as a lead.

The outfit that housed my day long excitement included the dress worn as a shirt with a dress underneath that I bought at H&M in Holland years ago, brown leather belt donated by Lauren, brown patterned tights from UrbanOutfitters that once brlonged to Leah, off-white Nordstrom cover-up, Forever21 floral scarf, and Target tan flats.

Day 89: The Muppets

"Wow, that was such an expensive looking explosion! I can't believe we had that in the budget."
-Fozzie Bear in The Muppets (2011)

Things I was reminded of today:
1. Rope swings are best used in the spring
2. Computer games in the 90s were the best
3. AMC puts out boss TV shows
4. I wish my southern accent was appropriate for life
5. I want to play a Zombie in a movie or TV show
6. Homemade fried rice is the best when made by Troy
7. I love pomegranates
8. Getting the food bin of organic food was the best choice of my life
9. I love my dog socks
10. Rudy's pizza is delicious

I also went to see the Muppets movie today with Henry and I think we were more obnoxious than the children that wouldn't stay in their seats due to our laughter at inappropriate times. Worth it, says I.

The outfit I pulled together real fast was almost a repeat but I mixed it up with my half-calf light-brown leather Nordstrom boots, Forever21 very blue bluejeans, the dress being worn as a shirt, Nordstrom wool grey sweater donated by the lovely Miss Riley, green hand-knit scarf, hand knit cream hat to try and cover my fruity smell with the use of different shampoo, and my owl necklace from Forever21.

Still no Christmas tree... I suppose I will just result to chalking one in the nook.

Day 88: It is Almost Like a Kimono.

"My little baby, off to destroy people."
-Mushu in Mulan (1998)

The week up excellence is complete. Seven full days of wonderful occurrences... If history proves itself correct I am up for something horrible to happen. Lets hope that is not the case.

My husband left this morning to return to Spoka.... I mean, the tri-cities for Christmas celebrations and has left me alone with my knitting, netflix, and 15 blankets on my bed. This will be the true test of our relationship to see if I can survive alright on my own.

Window shopping and working on Christmas presents was easily accomplished on my own however the goal of acquiring a tree failed. Tomorrow is another day...

The outfit for the day brought the dress to a new form being worn almost as a shawl with a white UrbanOutfitters shirt underneath, patterned Target dress, vintage black and gold belt, flower hair clips from Forever 21, cream colored lace AmericanApparel tights, and black lace booties from Nordstrom.

Now Lemon... where were we?

Sunday, December 11, 2011

Day 87: Party Hopping

"Hop inside my mouth... if you want to live."
-Nigel in Finding Nemo (2003)

Waking up in a state of pure happiness is an excellent way to start any day but, today was particularly wonderful. Not to mention the first Christmas breakfast of the season with the roommates that included french toast with syrup, powdered sugar and watered down strawberries.

Notes from today:
1. Hannah and the Talking Tree may be my new favorite children's book.
2. I much prefer going to the gym during break because of the availability of equipment.
3. Reheated dumplings are still delicious.
4. Christmas trees are better bought.
5. It may only be the 10th, but Christmas music is a constant on Pandora.
6. I have missed my girlfriends so very much.
7. Party hopping is fun when you know more than two people at each party otherwise, you might as well be home knitting and watching 30 Rock.

The outfit that accompanied me out on the town to six different stops included the dress worn in true form with a blue vintage button-up woman's blouse from my Grandmother, black leggings from Target, Christmas socks, Frye boots, black necklace from France and vintage circle earrings.

Sunday will hopefully be just a marvelous with the promise of window shopping at antique stores and iceskating.

Day 86: Street People

"One day I will live in a cardboard box behind WallMart. This is my dream."
-12 year old Hannah. (no joke)

It has been brought to my attention that I tend to say certain phrases a lot. I am going to do my best to avoid these from this point forward but I can not promise anything since it is clearly part of my daily vernacular.

The awkwardness of this photo does not truly show the wonder that it was because while walking downtown today, 8 street folk told me that I was either a) "Sexy", b) "Beautiful", c) "Hot", d) "You look so good, make me wanna put my feet in your mouth", or d) all of the above. I say that today's outfit of choice fit for a call back was certainly winning.

The dress was worn today in slip form under a floral patterned Target dress with Target black tights and vintage saddle shoes. A simple yet elegant ensemble. I may need to change into something later to fit a themed birthday party and also, for safety reasons, into a more camouflaged number so that I can cut down a tree branch to create the poor mans Christmas Tree.

The terrible choice of my day now arrives with trying to decide between watching the S Club 7 TV show on Youtube or continue my ride on the 30 Rock wagon until my Fridate dinner and a movie with Alec...

Decisions, decisions....

Day 85: Great Success!

"That was my impression of Drew Barrymore playing that crazy lady."
-Liz Lemon on Edie Beale 30 Rock (Season 5: Ms. Donaghy)

Finals week: complete.

Five tests, one performance and I passes them all. Anatomy, I got an A, Theatre, I got an A, Phonetics, I got an A... I like this trend. Thank you best week this quarter.

I look back to when this week began and from the moment I woke up on Sunday, I was incredibly happy and life was feeling perfect and wonderful. I hope this trend continues into tomorrow!

The day drinking commenced in this outfit that included the dress being worn as a skirt with a vintage top from Spain and vintage belt from my Grandmother, grey target tights, Frye boots, vintage blazer, and AmericanEagle scarf.

Day 84: Man Pies.

"Beetles know this. Beetles are good doctors."
-David Firth animation

This may be the most excellent week of my year which is weird because it is finals week and it should just be awful. But everything is going more than amazingly!

Last night I went to watch the devised theatre class perform their pieces and it was such a magical experience. I am so proud of all of my friends for expressing themselves in such beautiful ways. I also had a lovely evening with Troy, Conner and Jordan. Wine and bacon is such an excellent combination.

Then I woke up this morning, had a delicious breakfast and then got a email informing me of my callback and couldn't be more excited. Unfortunately this put a HUGE dent in my studying... But I did get a man pie and the new Cosmo so I'm gonna say thats a win. 30 Rock also very much got in the way of the study fest that is only now truly beginning.

As if this wasn't enough! I won my first sweepstakes ever!! $150 to a shop in the Lynwood mall. I can not wait to go pick up an alpaca wool sweater! This isn't cheating because I am not buying anything.

The outfit that I put together for day celebration at Rudy's and walking with Alec included the dress being worn as a shirt under my GoodWill sweatshirt of the universe, Forever21 jeans, Frye boots, light-blue hand knit circle scarf, and red AmericanEagle wool hat.

Now lets get productive Hannah!

Day 83: The Fantasticks

Luisa Bellamy: Papa I got to take wing.
Amos Babcock Bellamy: Well be careful, it's duck season.
The Fantasticks (1995 movie)

Today was the big day of finals week with three finals, two final theatre classes that I went to watch perform, and an audition at the Mount Baker theater. I can leave this day with a feeling of great success because I accomplished them all and feel so great about all of them!

The outfit for the day had to meet all of the transitions and did so excellently. The dress was worn as a tank-top tucked into a vintage light-green skirt, vintage leather brown belt, green tights (for my Peter Pan performance), vintage saddle shoes, floral ModCloth cover-up, and Forever21 flower clip accessory.

Only one more final to go and I can finally be done with fall quarter 2011. Tomorrow will be a day of PJs and studying. And maybe more 30 Rock... only time will tell.

Monday, December 5, 2011

Day 82: 30 Rock

"Who hasn't made mistakes? I once french kissed a dog at a party to try to impress what turned out to be a very tall 12 year old."
-Liz (30 Rock Season 5 Episode 10) played by Tina Fey

Does this outfit scream, "I took my anatomy final at 8 AM and then spent the day studying but in reality really spent the afternoon eating and watching 30 Rock"? Cause it should.

Being a college student for the win.

Good thing I am feeling confident for my three finals and audition that I have tomorrow. I still have a solid three hours before I should attempt sleeping that can be dedicated to showering, practicing and focussed studying.

The Monday outfit was made up of the dress worn as a shirt, Forever21 jeans, Frye boots, black necklace from France, long patterned sweater from UrbanOutfitters, blue hand-knit circle scarf, and hand-knit cream hat.

I have a feeling that this may be the week of sweaters... God I love December.
Happy finals week to all!

Day 81: Silent Night

"A goose never voted for an early Christmas."
- Irish Saying

There is nothing like falling asleep to the words of wisdom given by none other than Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin with your best friend. Other wins for the day include a morning run in Ugg boots to get to a rehearsal on time, going back to bed, participating in a wonderful holiday concert, and making my mother cry while singing Silent Night.

The outfit that accompanied me to the concert and to dinner with me madra at the Copper Hog included the dress worn as a tunic, blue velvet jacket from Jcrew, Nordstrom chain necklace, AmericanApparel patterned skirt that once belonged to Fiona, Target black tights, black wool REI socks, and black lace leather booties from Nordstrom.

*Side Note: I thoroughly enjoy old men in Santa hats playing instruments.

The remainder of my evening is dedicated to Anatomy. In a little over 12 hours I will be sitting down to take this final. I will be graping this test. I know this because my dreams last night included going into a human ear like I was Ms. Frizzle. Wish me and my magic school bus luck!

Day 80: Happy Birthday Rachel!

"I have no shame in saying that I used to bite my sister. It only gave good practice for men."
-Unknown

December 3rd is a beautiful day because it marks the birth of my gorgeous sister, Rachel. Even though we have not celebrated her birthday together for the past five years, I still always make rice crispy treats in her honor (this could also just be an excuse to pleasure my sweet tooth...) My newly found obsession is adding peanut butter to this recipe. Delicious.

Today also mark the day of, "This is what I call attractive" in this lovely ensemble including the dress worn as a tank top buried under a plaid mens shirt from Goodwill, light brown Target cardigan, and grey wool sweater donated by Riley from Nordstrom. Also worn were yoga pants and Ugg boots for the win.

This outfit was everything I hate about clothing options and more. With the exception of leggings being worn as pants. In my defense, it is the Saturday before finals week and I only live for studying.

Day 79: It's My Sister's Birthday Already in Thailand!

"I joined Walt Disney, went to work, December 2nd 1935, so obviously, I'm not too young!"

-Marc Davis

I feel as if my sister has two birthday's this year because her birthday is the 3rd but it started on the 2nd because of the time difference between Bellingham and Beijing. I am okay with this because I will be talking to her from 2012 in 2011. Wicked awesome!

The hectic schedule that was Friday took a turn for the worse when my computer screen broke unexpectedly (unexnpectectadlly... thanks spell check for your always interesting interpretations) during my musical theatre class. The reasoning behind this madness remains a mystery. So instead of having my three hours of study time BEFORE the four parties I had to attend and study group was taken away from me by the detour down to Lynwood with the mall (which is INCREDIBLE by the way, there is a Disney store and it is fantastic) to replace the screen at the Apple store.

It is here that I would like to thank my mother and father for making me a woman. Story:
Man at the Genius counter says, "Great, so we have you all checked in here and the repairs should be done between one and three days. We will just give you a call when it is all ready for you."
I respond with an upset and hesitant, "Umm..."
"Is there something wrong?"
"Well," I reply, "the thing is that I am coming from Bellingham and it is the weekend before my finals week and I really need my computer back tonight."
"We usually do our repairs after closing..." (insert my sad feminine eyes and gaze) "But let me see what I can do."
Let's just say that the man came back with a response that pleased me and I returned to Bellingham after missing the study group and two parties with computer in hand.

I also want to thank the stylish outfit for the day that helped me pass as a mall worker and appear professional for my performance today that was made up of the dress worn as a skirt with a purple Target tank top tucked in, ModCloth floral cover-up, brown patterned tights that were given to me last year by my friend Leah, Fyre boots, gold Nordstrom bangle, assorted rings and earrings, and what I like to call the "saddle belt" that was donated by Lauren.

The party that I was able to attend was the ugly Christmas sweater party that the choir I am in was having. I don't really consider my sweater "ugly" but I did make it festive with the Santa hat.

This is also my attempt at looking like the Grinch that stole Christmas (part 1). There is many a more holiday parties to come and I am sure I will have multiple tries at perfecting this look.

I would like to make a shout out to my good friend Riley whose birthday party I missed tonight. I wish that my life was not to crazy today because I really wanted to celebrate with you. I owe you a drink lady, Happy Birthday!

Now for laundry and studying because I am a home body and that is what old ladies do on Friday nights. (Oh and knitting... Don't be fooled. I am doing that before I go to bed too.)

Day 78: Advent Calendars Make Me Smile

"At the Imperial Conference on December 1, it was decided to make war against England and the United States."
-Hideki Tojo

I much prefer awkward photos to those that actually show off what I am wearing for the day. Clearly...

Maybe one day I will have a real camera and my posts will not be such a guessing game. For the time being, that'll do pig, that'll do.

As a rule, students should not be on campus for more than 12 hours each day. It gets to a point where you are literally mush and are of no help to anyone. Unfortunately, this is one of the many joys of dead week. Other uplifting moments are brought to you by advisors telling you that your schedule is only going to be worse next quarter with your 21 credits, 30 work hours, two benefit projects, observation hours, and possible shows built in. I will have no social life, no food, or sleep. Thank you college. Thank you.

But, let's just make it to next Thursday first. Then the break will hopefully prepare and relax me. Because of my crazy day, there was no time for movie viewing but I fell asleep to the recent Nicole Kidman film, Rabbit Hole. My thoughts, I fell asleep easily.

That outfit for the day was composed of the dress worn as a t-shirt with a zip-up patterned hoodie from Buckle, leather jacket I found at the public library in Montana, Forever21 skinny jeans, pink socks from Fred Meyer, white Keds, orange hand knit hat, and light-blue hand knit circle scarf. I need to remember to dress warmer tomorrow. I was much too cold today.

Also, welcome to December! No shave November is over but to the boys out there that look good with your grown mustaches and beards, KEEP THEM! Please.
